Story

Next Friday, we will cycle 130km overnight from Sheffield to Cleethorpes.

Setting off at 9pm and hoping to arrive in Cleethorpes for about 7am this overnight ride will be a test of stamina, endurance and morale (especially if it rains!).

This year you can sponsor our Cleethorpes Constitutional ride to raise money for two local queer- and trans-specific organisations: SAYiT and Sheffield Electrolysis Project.

SAYiT has been operating since 1999, working with young LGBTQ+ people as well as those affected by HIV, aged 8 to 25, in Sheffield. It provides group and 1:1 support for young people, supports their parents and carers, and delivers education in local schools and youth settings on LGBTQ+ issues, HIV and sexual health. In addition it provides training courses more widely for professionals.

Sheffield Electrolysis Project emerged earlier this year in the midst of further government attacks on trans people, in particular trans women. It offers free and heavily discounted electrolysis sessions for trans women and transfeminine people in financial hardship who otherwise couldn't afford them. All donations go directly to providing gender-affirming hair removal to those who need it most.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our fundraising page, and please give generously!
