I am a modern Pentathlete and have been competing in the sport for 3 years. As part of the five disciplines, running and shooting is a combined event called the laser run. The shooting discipline is laser target shooting, each athlete has to hit 5 green lights or until the 50 seconds is up until they are required to run 800m, this is then repeated 4 times. I competed at the British laser run championships held in Yate near Bristol where I came 3rd in the under 19 girls age category on 5th August. The top 3 athletes in each age category then qualified for the World Championships held in Cape Town, South Africa on 13th-16th October 2017. I would really appreciate funding to cover kit, travel and accommodation costs which will be expensive. I am so excited to go as this will also be my first major international competition representing my country Great Britain for whom I will do my very best.
