Thank you so much for visiting my page! In July myself and four other friends will be travelling to Tabanan in Bali where we will be volunteer for three weeks. This incredible opportunity will allow us help teach children between the ages of 4 and 9, giving them an amazing head start before they begin formal schooling. Being able to speak basic English is a vital skill in Bali due to the increase in tourism. Education at this level will set a solid foundation for many of the children that we will be teaching, allowing them to improve their future and that of their families.

During our trip we will be working at the local kindergarten, referred to as the 'Akasa Kindergarten'. There are currently 20 children who are sponsored to attend the kindergarten and with the help of the PMGY team, we will play a crucial role in interacting with the children, keeping them entertained, building their confidence and teaching them basic English, life and social skills.

Everyday we will plan engaging activities to help excite children about learning a new language. We will also be organising arts and crafts sessions and will plan physical education games such as volleyball or football. I am extremely excited to help encourage young children, and give them the best possible start to life.

The trip is equally going to allow me to explore Bali, a country which I have never been to before. I hope that when we are not working, we will visit animal reserves or walk across the famous rice paddy fields, giving me a deeper understanding of the culture in Bali.

The money that I raise will go towards the overall cost of the trip, and throughout the year I will be taking part in a number of fundraising events, such as hosting bake sales. Any extra money I would take with me to Bali, and donate to the school.

This trip is going to allow me to really appreciate my upbring and eduction, and I know will be a life changing experience!
