I'm raising £15000 to fund the next major phase of improving Cley harbour for our community, local economy, and boat users, all in its special natural environment

Cley next the Sea is a former port with a wealth of maritime history. Almost unnavigable and empty of boats just 9 years ago, it was initially brought back from total dereliction to become a small working harbour for safe mooring.
The last 3 years have seen major de-silting and re-profiling of the banks over 750 metres of the River Glaven, with addition of new moorings along the length of an extended quayside. This work stabilised the channel for access by boat, reduced flood risk and enhanced access for wildlife. A new canoe rack with steps to the water was installed for rowers and paddlers. The harbour has become a central feature of Cley, with events on the quayside, activities on the water, visiting sailing clubs and other boat users.
The next 3 years will now see an ambitious new plan which includes widening the navigable river width along the quayside; extending the quay further to provide additional safe moorings; installing power supply at the quayside for electric boats and community events; and reed management on the banks to support safer navigation and wildlife access.
The Cley Harbour team is extremely grateful to all those who choose to support this ambitious new plan for our village harbour.
