Weʼre raising £1,000 to Climb Ben Nevis to support people affected by poverty
Don't have time to donate right now?
The Children's Wood and G20 Youth Festival (The Children's Wood youth club) community will be hiking to the top of Ben Nevis - the tallest mountain in the U.K - to raise money for people living in poverty.
The G20 young people want to help others and make a difference both locally and abroad. The money raised from this hill walking trip will support various projects that aim to make a difference to the lives of those affected by poverty. The G20 young people will play a key role in delivering these activities and projects, and they will be supported by an experienced team.
Poverty negatively affects communities across the world, and is the root cause of many negative outcomes for people such as violence, addiction, unemployment, and disease. The G20 young people hope to make a small difference to those living in poverty by creating opportunities and projects that create positive, hopeful, change.
This trip is a once in a lifetime event for the young people, staff and volunteers. They will begin training for this trip in March, and will climb local hills and mountains surrounding Glasgow to prepare for the trip up Ben Nevis in June.
The group plan to ascend Ben Nevis the second week of June. They are lucky to have support from a team who have successfully led various groups up Ben Nevis.
This event will not only help The Children's Wood to raise funds to help others but it will stretch and transform the lives of those taking part in the project.
If you'd like to get involved you can donate here, or you can come and join us on the adventure.
