    Story

On June 9th Aaron Kirkham, along with “Team Easy” and “Team No Fear On Wheels”, will be attempting to take Shaun Gash and his wheelchair to the summit of Ben Nevis. Chris Jones, a GB bronze medal winner, will be joining us on our quest on his adapted bike meaning this will be the first time a team of people have ever attempted to take both a wheelchair and adapted bike to the summit of Ben Nevis.

For more information about Chris visit http://www.iamcjones.com/

Anyone who has ever climbed Ben Nevis knows this won’t be easy. Climbing ‘The Ben’ is hard enough on a normal day let alone having the added challenge of a wheelchair user and adapted bike rider with us which will literally need to be carried in places.

Not to be outdone, a team of volunteers all from Coventry Building Society (Dean Ashby, Laura Ellis, Lewis Jackson and Sophie Tudor) will attempt to defeat Snowdon on May 17th.

Both events are aimed at raising money for Henley Green Primary school, and their dream of building an outdoor learning area. The school caters for in excess of 400 pupils up to the age of 11. The school has had success in developing children’s understanding of ‘where food comes from’ and working with their hands outdoors. These topics have proven successful in developing children’s confidence and life skills.

Therefore several members of staff from Coventry Building Society will be volunteering their own time to help provide the school with an outside learning area.
The garden will include bottle greenhouse, compost heap and outside planting area, and is scheduled to be opened at the school’s summer fete on the June 30th.

In order to provide the school with a learning area to be proud of we urgently require your help in raising funds to help purchase the materials for the build.

Our target amount is £1000 (which CBS will match) so any support you can offer for the people doing these challenges will be greatly appreciated.
