I've raised £2700 to buy a wheelchair and battery pack for Euan to give him some independence and so he can join in playing with his friends.

Euan has the progressive muscle wasting condition Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. There is currently no cure and very limited treatment for it. Euan now finds walking hard and is unable to climb stairs and definitely can't keep up with his friends or two brothers. Euan is desperate to be like any other 10 year old and have some independence rather than relying on someone to push him in his manual wheelchair.
We have the found the perfect solution through a company that supply equipment for disabled children. They are able to provide a standard wheelchair to which a battery pack can be attached, allowing Euan to drive it with a joystick.
As you can imagine, the equipment is not cheap and will cost around £5500. Fortunately we have had a children's charity, Physcap, offer to fund half the amount. We plan to raise the other half through a fund-raising event.
Euan has come up with the idea of a climbing challenge, after being able to take part in his brother's recent birthday party at our local Clip 'n Climb, thanks to their fantastic pulley system.
So on Sunday May 5, Euan and several of his classmates will attempt to climb the equivalent of the Yorkshire Three Peaks at Clip n Climb and would love it if you could sponsor them and help Euan get the independence he so desperately needs and wants.
