Story

This page is in order to help raise money in support of my cousin Jake Mulpeter.

Jake was a promising young boxer, reaching the rank of Midlands champion and performing at National events in his amateur career. The arrival of his 18th birthday also saw Jake become a fully qualified electrician. Whilst his future was not yet mapped out for him, it was full of promise and possibilities.

All this changed and was taken from Jake quicker than anyone could have ever anticipated.

Jake was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

On an innocent night out with friends in Birmingham he was approached and subsequently set upon by two individuals that proceeded to dish out a savage, brutal and totally unprovoked attack which left him with life threatening injuries – Jake never even saw it coming!

The attackers fled and left him unconscious and with two fractures to his skull. Whilst in hospital the Doctors found a blood clot on his brain, which required a section of his skull to be removed in order to clear this. This was an extremely dangerous operation and has left Jake with part of his skull missing, 60 staples in his head and only 30% of his hearing in his right ear. After a lengthy spell, Jake was allowed to come home, however, his life has been severely impacted in so many ways due to the damage that his brain sustained. He now awaits the operation that will see a titanium plate fitted to his skull in order to replace the section he lost.

Jake can never live out the future that was in front of him prior to the attack.

Life will never be the same again for Jake

But Jake is a fighter….always has been and always will be.

He is a true inspiration to his family and especially to me. He is a real example of someone that you can look up to. I have no idea where he has found the strength and courage to deal with everything that the aftermath of this attack has left him with….all that it has taken from him….and yet he still stays strong.

I will be attempting the Three Peaks Challenge...climbing the highest mountains of England, Scotland and Wales all within the space of 24hrs. Climbing a few mountains now seems like nothing in comparison to his journey, but I am doing it to let him know just what a true inspiration he really is.

Any money you can donate to this page will be gratefully received and donated to Jake….big or small….it really is the gesture that counts. With a little luck I can raise enough money to help Jake's future in some small way.

Please….Help me to help Jake and show just how much we believe in him and admire his courage and strength of mind.

Thank You
