I've raised £1500 to the Addie Brady Foundation.

Climbing for Addie
Today, (28th Feb)Tara along with brother Patrick, and family friend Paul will begin the challenge of hiking up the Pyrenees. The 5 day event will take them up to Pic Montardo with altitudes of 2,852m and with temperatures ranging from -10ºC - +10º C with a chance of heavy snowfall and high winds.
Please, if you can support them on their journey and help raise much needed funding to support those affected by brain cancer and to support those families with Li Fraumeni Syndrome. In addition, we would also like to support the work of the Li-Fraumeni Syndrome Association who invited Addie to attend their first youth workshop in Utah in 2017.
Our daughter, Addie was first diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer in 2011. Surgery and several months of chemo saw Addie recover. However, five years later in 2016, Addie was rushed into hospital following a seizure, tests later revealed Addie had a high-grade inoperable brain tumour. More shockingly, the brain tumour was a primary cancer unrelated to the first cancer. Genetic testing revealed Addie had Li-Fraumeni Syndrome (LFS), usually an inherited familial predisposition to the disease. Addie died at home on 1st February last year. She was just 16 years old.
We wanted to honour Addie and so set up a Foundation in her name to boost research into high grade paedatric brain tumours and better treatments for brain cancer. We are currently working with the Brain Tumour Charity to achieve this. We are also working with The George Pantziarka TP53 Trust, a charity dedicated to supporting families with LFS. Currently they are working towards implementing a national surveillance and screening program, urging for additional research in to LFS and other genetic cancer predispositions .
Addie was our inspiration and we are determined for her strength and bravery to be an inspiration for all.
Her T- shirt says it all!!
