Story
Everyone seems to know someone that has been affected by cancer around Cheltenham. In May 2019 I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and have been undergoing chemotherapy since then and am one of those people! However, things are going well and I have now reached the halfway stage of my treatment.
During the course of my cancer journey, I have been supported by Maggies, a local cancer charity. They receive no government funding and do a fantastic job supporting everyone in the Cheltenham hub. I am aiming to give something back and therefore am challenging myself to walk between 9-10 local cricket clubs to raise funds. I aim to do this in one day, which is not to be underestimated given how debilitating the cancer can be.
At the same time, I am looking to raise some funds for the new cricket clubhouse at CKCC. We are very close to having the money to complete this work, despite the long drawn out legal battle we fought. I am to split the money 50:50 between the 2 local community causes.
