I've raised £4500 to Volunteer in Kenya in July 2020 to support those less fortunate than me.

Hi, my name is CJ, I'm 15 and on the Autistic spectrum. I have been given the opportunity to go to Kenya in 2020 with my school and Camps International, to help those who are less fortunate than myself and I would really like to help. I will travel after I finish my GCSE's, as my education is important to me. I will start my expedition with a 4-5 day trek to get to my host location for the local project which will be for 2 weeks aimed at helping local tribes and communities to be able to support themselves going forward. I will then have another trek before finally putting down my rucksack for a few days sightseeing. What will I gain from it, well firstly this will put me massively outside my comfort zone as I will be away from everything I know and love, with a few people I know from school. It will push me to my limits regarding my ability to cope due to my Asperger's (a form of Autism). My team working and communication skills will hopefully benefit massively as well as testing out my leadership qualities. My resilience will be tested on the treks with extreme weather and camping out without creature comforts. I would really like to go, but have to fundraise as I'm too young to work, I know right, I have tried! I have done fundraising before but never for the amount of money I am trying to raise. I have lots of fundraising activities planned like car boot sales, quizzes, school disco, christmas fayre, bbq, football/basketball tournaments to name a few. If you would like to help me, help others to help themselves and have a more sustainable, safer, healthier life, then please donate whatever you can and I will post and keep you update on my journey. Thank you for your time
