I've raised £1000 to Raise money for cancer support charities in Aberdeen.

Recently I've been diagnosed with Testicular Cancer. Being diagnosed with cancer isn't something any of us want to experience but unfortunately these things happen in life and its how we deal with it that matters. Everyone has their own way of dealing with cancer but its that positive mindset we all need. Being positive in situations like this doesn’t come easy however it is so important because it gives you the right mindset to get through it. The support and love I have received from everyone has been incredible. Its made a massive difference and has helped me keep positive during the tough times. The treatment and support I've received from all the staff involved in the cancer unit has been amazing and Its been great to see the benefits you receive from the charities involved.

All this technology and equipment is so important in helping treat patients with cancer. Friends of ANCHOR also provide the unit with complimentary wellbeing services and provisions which are available for all patients in the ward. These vary from home comforts, such as Dyson fans, fresh fruit, toiletry packs, warming blankets, cool refreshments (ice lollies, ice cream), DVD players with a vast selection of dvds and game consoles. Post treatment care such as, headwear, conditioner bottles, moisturisers, anti nausea items (seabirds and ginger chewing gum) and thermometers. In-patient support such as, counselling and support, massage service, podiatry, professional wig-styling, consultations and physiotherapy. Friends of ANCHOR have also funded ground breaking research to improve diagnosis and the treatment for cancer. All of this makes such a difference to supporting people who are affected by cancer.
Maggies centre Aberdeen is a cancer support centre that provides professional, practical, emotional and social support. They run classes and courses from Monday to Friday at the centre. Anyone affected by cancer can take part in any of these classes. The building can also be used as a chill out area. There is a kitchen that provides food, coffee, tea, soft drinks etc..There is free WiFi available and plenty of comfy areas to chill out and relax. This is all run through fundraising and its important we have this in place to continue supporting anyone who is affected by cancer.
These charities make an incredible difference. Knowing I have this support has gave me that positive mindset you need and its important these charities are in place for anyone who is affected by this disease. Having this support has inspired me to give back to these charities. This page is dedicated to raise awareness and money for the charities that are so important in helping provide support for all who are affected.
I really appreciate any donations given and can assure you its all going to a great cause and will make a huge difference in supporting people who are affected by cancer.
A special Thanks to Rob and Kirsten at CrossFit Aberdeen for helping me kickstart our first fundraising event #coffeeandclippers. A massive thanks to everyone who has donated and taken part by shaving their heads.
