I've raised £10000 to gain funding for our free artistic activities. We'd also like a coffee machine for our youth led cafe in Harrow.

Story

NOMAD has finally launched a new artistic hub in Harrow on the 26th of February 2020 bringing together such inspiring and uplifting young people and community leaders.

NOMAD’S ARC will be the first youth led artistic hub locally. It will also be a first for Harrow acting as a centre for arts and culture, led by the community and driven by a social agenda. It is a tool and a space which will provide training and development which equips young people with the right skills to take the initiative to make positive change both within their own community and the wider world

We aspire to be self-sustainable so one day we can generate income from our art, events and selling coffee. This would go back into the ARC and our youth led projects which support young vulnerable people. We are a community led charity, born out of our own experiences of being three black, Muslim and migrant women.

In order to launch our youth-run café, we are fundraising for a new coffee machine which will be used to be able to sell freshly made lattes, cappuccinos, espressos and more. Since NOMAD’S ARC is very well situated, right next to Harrow-on-the-Hill station, where there are commuters passing by every minute, we believe that this space will be the new hotspot for coffee and art lovers.

To help us reach our goal of £10,000 we’re asking for donations and if possible a share of the fundraiser.

When you donate these are the things you make available and free for vulnerable young people including the wider community

- One-to-one support for young people

- SayMore: a project to get young people’s voices heard by running their own talk show

- Fitness and well-being bootcamp where we train together

- BYOU: mental health workshops, discussions and a open space

- Uplift With Her: a safe space for women of colour to engage in challenging conversations around racism, sexism and stigmas. We use art therapy to create spaces for healing and growth which focuses on the mental well-being of women of colour. This was born out of Black lives movement, we want to look at the impact these movements and trauma has on women.
