Saxmundham Judo Club has been active for over ten years; providing recreational judo tuition and competition to the community in the town and surrounding villages.

With over 50 members ranging from pre-school age to over 60 years of age; this club has a wide range of members; providing a totally diverse, friendly and extremely appealing atmosphere.

Excellently managed by a group of coaches, administrators, safe-guarders, parents and active members; the club not only provides its primary function of Judo, but also organises activities both on and off the mats, including competitions, Xmas parties, parents participation evenings and elite athlete visits from GB Squad members, who provide elite tuition and demonstrations.

As the club comes out of its imposed lockdown due to Covid-19 pandemic; the club, whilst in a position of strength in terms of its membership, is in a rebuilding phase to allow it to return to its previous status. With rising costs of hall hire, administration, regulation and commitment to the British Judo Association; the club is undertaking a phase of applying for various sports grants and fundraising.

It is therefore the intention of the club to hold an open competition for junior and senior members from the region in September 2023, to raise additional funds from entry fees, snack bar and car parking etc. A part of this fundraising effort is to raise money to support prizes for ALL participants in the shape of medals and trophies, but also to provide special additional prizes to the winners in each of the categories.

It is to this end that we are setting up this page to ask for your generous donations to support the cost of the prizes and attendance trophies and medals. Your support is very much appreciated and will show your belief in the old adage of 'Sport For All' and also recognising the many numbers of people that provide their time voluntarily to ensure that our sport is taught and managed correctly, but also the legacy of the sport is continued to allow the development of our town's youth.
