We have a family at our school who are currently living in very inadequate and cramped circumstances. By working hard they managed to save £4,000 for a deposit and the first months rent. They visited various houses and thought that they had found the perfect place! The Landlord agreed to rent them the house and they gave him the £4,000. He promised that on receipt of the money he would come on a certain date with a van to move them. He failed to appear!
The family went to the police who said they could not help them. They have asked for support from various agencies but nobody appears to be willing or able to take on the case.
They are left with no money to pay this month's rent on their current room and can see no way forward for them or their children.
