    Story

    Our Son, and best friend,

His start to life was tough, needing a lifesaving operation at just 6 weeks old. At the age of around 2 years old Guy still wasn’t talking, we were told ‘boys are just lazy and he will get there’. At age 3 years Guy Started nursery still unable to talk, it was by pure coincidence that his condition was picked up by a visiting speak and language specialist.

Later and after several specialist speech and language appointment, along with serval hospital appointment up and down the country. We were informed that Guy had Verbal Dyspraxia and expressive language delay/disorder. In total shock and new and young parents.

Guy had several speech and language classes and appointments over the next few years.

The next hurdle was school, locally there where 2x mainstream schools with a speech and language centre attached to them, and only after several meetings and a several passionate arguments with the authorities. We had won the fight to get him a place in one of the centres. Guys Speech progressed every day, his academic achievements followed.

Guy has now progressed through to his GCSE’s to which he is predicted high mark. Although this journey has not been easy….

Over the last few years guy has faced more difficulties and has push through with passion and pride to better himself.

Guy is limited by the education system and the support that will no longer be available for him once he leaves school this summer. Guy has serval conditions, DCD, ASD, Neurological Development Disorder, Expressive Language Disorder, and many more……….

We, no! Guy is looking at Ellesmere College, in Shropshire, UK for his A levels. He has had a few taster days at the college and has found them both very supportive and a great place to be, this is key for Guy as he needs to feel at home/comfortable within his surroundings, they also offer what Guy needs in terms of the small class sizes 1-5 average ratio and sometime smaller, and the direct support that he needs.

This is where we hope you can help, 100% of any and all funds raised will go to paying for the school fees and any other support/equipment needed to aid Guy over the next 2 years
