Hi , as some of you are aware Colm's wheelchair was stolen outside John Lewis entrance Monday (5/10/2020) night, he had been out with friends but couldn't get a disabled access taxi home so he had to call his mum Kelly to come and collect him. When she arrived she realised the chair would not fit in her car so instead of leaving Colm out in the cold she tucked away the wheelchair in the corner outside of John Lewis' entrance and drove home to get a screwdriver to undo the bolts to fit it in the car.She was gone exactly 12 minutes, cctv has picked up a homeless man on their cameras looking at it and riding off on it, as Kelly arrived back she ran around town for an hour looking for who stole the wheelchair but unluckily she ran the opposite direction to the way the man had gone. Colm is dependent on his wheelchair as it determines his freedom as he has been brought up to be fiercely independent, he can not use a regular powered wheelchair because his condition Arthrogryposis multiplex congenita and amyoplasia which affects all four of his limbs meaning using a regular powered wheelchair is not possible because his arms are bent in. We have been told for Colm to get a new adapted wheelchair he will be assessed in 18 weeks and it will take roughly 18 months from now until he is able to have a new wheelchair.

An adapted wheelchair that will fit all of his needs will cost roughly £4000, we are hoping to raise £2000 to help Kelly, Colm and their family out in this unfortunate time and anything extra will be a very much appreciated bonus, the family would like to thank everybody for all of their shares,love and support.
