Story

Whilst many of us will be surrounded by laughter, loved ones and lots of good food this Christmas, it's estimated that over 1 million older people will be socially isolated and over 250,000 people will be on the streets.

No one should be on their own at Christmas!

In an effort to help combat loneliness this Christmas, I've signed up to do the Inflatable 5K Santa Run, on Saturday 1 December and I'll be offering my services at the Tiptree Tinsel Tearooms event. Whilst doing this, I'm fundraising for two charities: Community Christmas and Crisis.

For just £2, Community Christmas can answer a call from an older person, whilst £10 would help them to support a new community initiative. And for £26.08, Crisis will be able to give all of this to one person; Christmas dinner, advice on housing, benefits, finances, employment, as well as legal matters, healthcare support, including TB and hepatitis screenings , dental treatment, eye tests and glasses , hairdressing and massage treatments , learning and skills opportunities, access to internet cafés and IT workshops , specialist centres providing safe accommodation to rough sleepers, women and people with dependency issues PLUS access to Crisis’ year-round services for training and support. What a bargain!

Help me to combat loneliness by donating whatever you can this Christmas, whether that's £1, £10 or more... it will all add up! I'll divide the funds raised between both charities.

Thank you for your support!
