Story

TUI Team Fundraiser for our Colleague

The Commercial & Business Development Leadership Team (Richard Sofer, James Lawrence, Mark Hall, Jill Thompson, Karen Switzer, Chris Hackney, Chris Logan, Simon Eaton, Will Staples, Gunther Batsleer, Holly Raphael, Steve Hoar, Gemma Saunders, Sue Bradley, Craig Morgan & Katrina Barry) have decided to get together and take on a Team challenge in support of a much-loved close friend and colleague who is out of the business at the moment going through cancer treatment.

They are a very good candidate for a pioneering new immunotherapy cancer treatment. Unfortunately, this treatment is not yet available through the NHS so through this challenge we hope to contribute as much as we can to the cost of having this treatment privately. The estimated cost of the treatment is £150,000 so we would ask you to be as generous as you can. The treatment has been shown in trials to be highly effective and works by training the body’s own immune system to attack and fight the cancer cells.

With that in mind, the team have decided to take on The National Three Peaks Challenge which involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, all within 24 hours.

The total walking distance of this challenge is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft). The total driving distance is 462 miles. They will be taking on this challenge in mid July, starting day one at 5pm with climbing Ben Nevis, then travelling to and climbing Scafell Pike and finally finishing off with climbing Snowdon all by 5pm on day two.

Any donations big or small will be greatly appreciated.
