Story

Impact One Initiative is a non-profit organisation that transforms lives through the power of education. They work with the community schools in Ng'ombe, a compound in Lusaka, Zambia. These community schools are run by volunteers. They have no resources, training or funding to help with the education of children from Ng'ombe. Impact One Initiative works with these community schools to provide the resources they otherwise wouldn't receive.

In the Summer, I will be doing an internship with Impact One. During this time, I will being doing arts and crafts activities with some of the children from the community schools and the artwork they do will be used in murals on Impact One Initative's new resource centre.

This resource centre will allow access to reading books and teacher resources that can be borrowed. This community art project will be used to promote creativity, self esteem and to promote the library itself.
