Story

The Compassion Buddhist Centre is a place where everyone is welcome to come and find out about meditation and Buddhism, and to learn how people use meditation and Buddhist practice in their everyday lives.

Compassion Centre was established in 1994. Due to a growing interest in Buddhism and meditation the centre has blossomed into a vibrant and friendly residential community, offering both general introductory classes and in-depth study programmes.

The Centre provides help for people in every environment with their mental health. During lockdown the Compassion Centre moved its classes on line to support the people of the North East. Many people gained access to teachings and techniques to calm the mind as well as staying connected.

The money raised will be used to support the Centre grow and provide greater support to people, organisations and schools across the North East for many years to come.

I am running the length of Britain in consecutive days. I expect this to take around 6 months of running between 5 and 7.5 k a day. My experience in running prior to this was the odd run 2 or 3 times a month ahead of two half marathons I ran at 28 and 38. Other than these two fundraisers I am no Mo Farrah! so here goes...
