    Story

Struggling to move on after workplace bullying?

Conduct Change needs your help to fund additional programmes, and the training of more people who will be able to deliver programmes in the future through an organisation with true social purpose that keeps the values of being heard, valued and trusted at its core.

It took several years for me to really acknowledge what a devastating impact workplace bullying had on me - both on my physical and emotional health, and my finances. I struggled for a long time, battling with anger, frustration, and a huge sense of injustice. I didn't know where to turn for help. Yes, I'd followed policies and procedures, and even got a solicitor involved, but at the end of the day, I had no option but to leave while the bully stayed - and remains to this day - in his well paid job. For me, when I finally gave up the fight and left, I felt all alone. My confidence and self belief was destroyed. Applying for jobs, never mind going to interviews, created panic attacks and waves of nausea.

If you have ever experienced workplace bullying, or know anyone else that has been through this, then please support Conduct Change in our mission. We promise to use the funding to create more opportunities to help people through these programmes, and let people know that they are not alone.

I don't ever want anyone else to go through what I went through, so now I want to offer support for anyone who finds themselves struggling emotionally and financially after having to leave a job due to workplace bullying. That's why Conduct Change is offering programmes (face to face and online) to help peope move on again by restoring trust, regaining confidence, increasing resilience, and finding inner strength again. Our programmes will all be offered on a pay as you are able basis, with no pressure to pay - just a pledge that if they are able to contribute in the future to help someone else, then they will.

Eventually I found ways to recover, but it took a long time. Finally, I gathered the courage to set up my own business as a coach and trainer, specialising in the prevention of workplace bullying, harassment and cyberbullying. Even then, I didn't think that I was doing enough, so I founded Conduct Change, campaigning and advocating for change in the way bullying is dealt with in the workplace.

Thanks for an amazing, empowering and informative course, and for your support. I have learned so much which will help me move forward with greater awareness and confidence.

One of the Anti-Bullying Ambassadors, Ian Smith, tells you in his own words why he supports Conduct Change and the Moving On programme.

Reaching our target will allow us to run at least 18 programmes over the next 12 months supporting 108 people, and to train at least 2 more coaches to deliver future programmes.

Thank you all for your support.
