Story
Great news! The Friends of Coney Hall Park, have succeeded in installing a MUGA (Multi use games area) for all ages to enjoy in Coney Hall Recreation Ground. This is Phase Two of our ambitious ‘Play for All’ project. We raised a total of £87,000 for both phases and we couldn't have done this without the support of Bromley Council, Idverde, the National Lottery Fund and so many local businesses and families.
We now just need a little more money to enable us to put some seating near to the MUGA. Then we'll have achieved all of our goals.
In May 2024 we completed Phase One, the creation of a fun ‘learn to ride’ cycle circuit for young children, with three concrete table tennis tables alongside. The removal of two fences, laying of a new path and planting trees has already enhanced the visual appearance of this area and in time the trees will provide a new habitat for wildlife. This new development has really put Coney Hall on the map, with so many new visitors and local families having fun and meeting friends.
The response to this area has been phenomenal, with lots of positive comments from local residents. It has been wonderful to see children of all ages, teenagers and adults all playing in one area, whether cycling, using scooters, roller skates, skateboards or playing table tennis. There really is something for everyone, even if it is just sitting on a bench and watching others having fun!
The new MUGA, which has goals for both football and basketball, together with the cycle track and table tennis tables ensures that our park caters for all ages.
The new seating area will provide a safe place for youngsters to sit and chat with friends, or for parents / grandparents whilst watching younger children play. We really need your support now, to get the seating area installed.
Please support our exciting 'Play for all' project in any way you can, so that we all benefit from this wonderful initiative! If you don't want to make a cash donation but would rather support us in some other way, such as planting a new wildlife habitat, please email coneyhallfophotmail.com. or phone 0208 462 0671
Together, we will continue to make a real difference!
