Story

Connor came to southampton hospital on 8th July to have his 4th open heart surgery to replace his valves and conduits but there was complications during surgery he was in theatre for 12 hours and on bypass for 4 hours which then caused acute kidney failure (he’s on dialysis) his liver took a hit he got a touch of jaundice, they found he’s got gallstones and he has got 2 blood clots, he was in intensive care for 15 days sedated for 8 of them he’s now on a renal ward doing fantastically well, getting better every day he’s a real warrior, we don’t know how long we’re going to be in hospital for it depends on how Connor’s kidneys heal. Staying in hospital has been hard because of Covid only 1 parent can stay and no visitors although connors dad does drive up at the weekends just to see us even though it’s only for a hour or so depending on how Connor is that day I can take Connor out of hospital to see duncan but he’s not allowed in the hospital we’re very grateful that duncan was able to stay here with us whilst Connor was in critical condition in PICU.

I will be running from RAF Cosford where I am based to Plymouth over the course of 30 days. This equates to 12km a day every day for 30 days, a total of 360km, or 9 marathons in 30 days.

All of the money raised will be going to Connor and his family so they dont have to worry about the costs of travelling from Plymouth to Southampton, taking days off work or about providing Connor with any comfortabhe needs to keep him happy in hospital and for when he gets out.
