Story
In june 2017 me and peers from my school will travel to the Inthanon mountains in Thailand where we will stay for three weeks with the Karen villagers, providing them with a source of running water by building water tanks. Gordonstoun school has a 30 year old partnership with the Pakanyor foundation, which helps the Karen people. The project is going to be challenging, as it involves us building the tanks for the water and then to create a way from the water source to the tanks. It is going to be a great opportunity to be able to spend time helping people who are less fortunate than ourselves and to experience their way of life. I think it will be very rewarding to help these people and have a major impact on their lives which is going to last.
I am extremely happy to have been selected to go on the project as it is very competitive and I've always wished to participate in one of Gordonstoun's service projects. Part of being accepted is to fundraise the required £2200 by working for it ourselves. The money will go straight into material costs and other things involved in the building process.
Any donation would mean so much to me, no matter the size, and would be greatly appreciated, also by the villagers whose lives we are having a big impact on. Thank you
