I've raised £5000 to help us fund a new Cookery Room. We need a new Cookery Room, or we’ll be feeling sad & quite blue, help us make our dreams all come true.

We are excited to announce our fundraising campaign for a new cookery room at Robert Kett Primary School. As many of you know, cooking is an essential life skill that fosters creativity, teamwork, and healthy habits. With a new cookery room, we can provide a safe and inspiring space for our young learners to explore and experiment with different ingredients and recipes. However, we cannot do it without your help. Your donation, no matter how big or small, will make a significant impact in providing our children with the necessary tools and resources to develop their culinary talents. We appreciate your generosity and support in this worthy cause. Let's cook up something special together!
Just watch the faces of the children in our school choir singing their hearts out in order to try and raise funds for our school - we are so, so very proud of them. And, just incase you want to sing along............
Chorus: We need a new cookery room, Or we’ll be feeling sad and quite blue. Help us to make our dreams all come true. Cookery Room, Cookery Room
We’ve got no oven, got no hob, so we’ll have no food to put in our gobs. All we want is to cook cool food, maybe that will improve our mood. All we want is to bake and cook, you teach us things we can’t-find in a book. We want to bake bread by the dozen, how can we do this with no oven?
Chorus
When we can’t cook, it drives us crazy, but Jamie Oliver inspires us daily. We want to be like Delia Smith, so don’t let our dreams end up as myths. Ever since we were in Year One, we haven’t been able to cook for fun. Now we’re sitting in Year Six, we’re nearly at the end of our wits. We want the children who come next, to experience the very best. Maybe brand new chefs will bloom, In our brand new cookery room!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WE NEED A NEW COOKERY ROOM VIDEO
We are also incredibly lucky to have our own on-site Chefs providing great food at lunchtime and Chef Jason has been helping our great children with their cookery lessons, refining and developing the children's skills with different techniques through his expert guidance.
We have not been able to fully implement our food and nutrition lessons due to a cookery room which is not fit for purpose. The cookers are outdated and the work surfaces were not built with our younger children in mind.
We have been able to adapt by utilising Kett’s Kitchen’s ovens, but this is taking away a crucial element of the cooking lessons, meaning that the children cannot place their prepared food directly in the ovens themselves and have that delight as they watch their food cook, smell the aroma and feel that sense of achievement as the whole dish comes together.
As a school, we are very keen to renovate our Cookery Room so that it is both fit for purpose and inspirational. The problem with this is that we estimate it will cost around £7,500 in order to do this. I’m sure you are all aware of the rising energy prices as well as shrinking school budgets, which makes this an impossible task for us on our own.
We are asking the Just Giving community to help us fund a new Cookery Room to enable current and future generations of Robert Kett Primary School the chance to learn an essential life skill and inspire future chefs and bakers.
Any donations (small or large) would be greatly appreciated, we know how tight budgets are for you all but we really would appreciate any support you can give. Thank you
