**** COOPER MEMORIAL RACE 2020 ****
Online,
4.10 - 11.10
The time has come for the annual Cooper Memorial Race. The race is held to honour the memory of two late Lairig members, Graeme Cooper and Richard Hardy, who tragically lost their lives returning from a winter climb in the Cairngorms. We’re also helping support the work of the Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team by raising money for their trusts.
The event would normally involve a loop around the beautiful Loch Muick, a dip in the lake and downing a pint or a soft drink before the finish line. Due to the restrictions we all already know too well, this is unfortunately not feasible this year. We hope to run the live event again in March but if that fails, we’ll definitely be seeing you around this time next year.
So instead, record a 12k run wherever you happen to be using Strava (or similar). Feel free to include a dip into the sea or a loch and enjoy a pint in the midst of it all. The event will take place over a week starting on the 4th October.
As the purpose of the run is to raise funds for the Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team, please consider contributing towards the extremely important work they’re doing.
Please share to get people involved and contribute!
