Story

Cop Lane has been fundraising for Pencott Valley Primary School in Uganda since it began in 2002. The most recent fundraiser was the collection from the carol service and infant nativity performances, where half went to Pencott and half to Penwortham food bank. The charity, Operation Orphan, support Pencott and all the money raised from schools like Cop Lane goes straight to it. It currently costs £15 per term for a child to attend Pencott with uniform etc being extra. Our fundraising money helps the children from the surrounding area, who would not be able afford an education by paying for their school places as well as the upkeep of the buildings.

Unfortunately, the school is facing a big challenge in that the Ugandan government has now said that there should be a brick wall going all the way around the perimeter of the school. If this cannot be built, it could mean that Pencott might have to close. Our children in school think that this is unfair. Therefore, we would like to help.
