Story

Hi- my name is Corey Walkes and I am a 16 year old trampoline gymnast.

I have been selected to compete for Great Britain at the 25TH WORLD AGE GROUP TRAMPOLINE CHAMPIONSHIPS which will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria 12th - 20th November 2017 (yes next month!)

This is the 4th Junior World competition that I have been selected by British Gymnastics to compete in for my country!

I train at Quayside Trampoline & Gymnastics Club in Bridgwater with my Personal Coach Sue Bramble up to five times a week and have recently joined Beechen Cliff Secondary School 6th Form in Bath to study for my ‘A’ Levels after achieving my GCSE's at Writhlington Secondary School in Radstock where I live with my family.

I recently came 1st as a guest in the British Trampoline Championships 15-16 Mens age group with a 13 point lead after being out of competition for over a year through injury due to fracturing a bone in my foot - its been a long recovery but now I'm back and working hard to be the best I can be!

To compete as a Junior at the World Age Group Championships is self funding at a cost of nearly £2,000 which includes my competition entry fees (both as an individual and in synchro , my flights and accommodation in Bulgaria plus the new 2017 competition and training kit for me to wear with pride!

To compete for Great Britain on the World stage and wear the flag on my kit is such an honour and I will be doing my best to compete and make everyone who supports me proud!

Thank you for reading,

Corey :-)
