Story
The comment I get the most from the many creative arts projects already completed is 'I wish it could continue'. We are seeking start up funding for another project that will support anyone that currently has a mental health diagnosis.
Using our imagination creatively can really help promote mental wellness and these projects, underpinned with psychotherapy, are safe, supportive occasions for people to build confidence and rebuild their lives. Often finding new directions and motivation to help others as a result of their experiences they pass on this knowledge to others and in so doing build better understanding, turn a difficult life experience into one of growth and contribute to their communities. They also make some good art which travels to different venues to open discussion of mental wellbeing and how to manage symptoms more effectively.

My research focuses on the emotion of fear. How it is experienced by the individual and consequentially their relationship with community. The projects work to reduce fear and build understanding so that people are able to overcome behaviour that may be detrimental.
