Story
Our primary school is situated in a beautiful village location on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. Unfortunately this leaves us at the mercy of the prevailing weather and this has had a detrimental effect on our Early Years play space and equipment. Our PTA team , (The Friends of Cornwood School), work hard raising funds for the school and are well supported by parents, children and the local community but we realise that a project of this size needs extra help.
Our aim is:
- To replace the damaged and worn out floor coverings : both rubberized and astro turf.
- To build a covered shelter to provide an all weather all year round free flow teaching area.
- To provide a permanent role play/ climbing structure
- To provide water/sand play equipment along with other permanent education aids.
Also to revamp the existing 'bandstand' with new roofing felt and a lick of paint!
All in all this is a massive project.. but we feel with the help of our friends , families and strong village community we can pull together to provide a wonderful new learning environment for our children and for the future pupils of Cornwood School.
