Story

Covid Crisis Rescue Foundation (CCRF) is providing critical services to help the fight against COVID-19 across the UK, and more recently beyond - this work has been ongoing on a daily basis since the pandemic began. We rely on your support.

Our initiatives have included:

I) Provision of PPE and medical devices to frontline services and patients;

II) The Urgent Oximeter Response Service- a free, Pan London 7 day a week loan and delivery service of oxygen saturation probes in collaboration with The Bike Shed MC bikers and with the support of the Royal Free Hospital;

iii) the Covid Crisis Rescue Volunteer Team, numbering nearly 90 volunteers, distributing food donated by London eateries 5 days a week to NHS staff at busy London hospitals.

IV) The Vaxi Taxi Project to facilitate pop up vaccination units at various centres, including faith, community and asylum seeker centres, as well as homeless shelters, and transport people without access to private transport to these pop up vaccination centres, thereby making vaccination against Covid-19 more accessible for high risk groups, and addressing inequalities of health.

V) HELP INDIA NOW THINK TANK PROJECT , a coalition of UK and India based clinical and non-clinical experts, to support ongoing efforts in India to manage the pandemic, including by means of 'COVID Clinical Conversations'- the development of clinical resources for professionals and the public, including to inform the establishment of pulse oximetry at home pathways, and to deliver wellbeing support, as well as to assist in the sourcing of medical equipment supplies.

VI) UGANDA CLINICAL SUPPORT project, a group of UK and Uganda based clinicians and associated professionals working to support frontline clinicians in the midst of the COVID pandemic in Uganda, by fundraising for medical essentials and providing peer support as needed.

We are reliant on donations to do this work and will continue to provide these services for as long as we have the resources to do so.

TESTIMONIALS

Thank you so much for providing us with essential PPE when we needed it the most. The GPs , nurses and HCAs feel so much safer knowing they will be able to care for their patients but also keep themselves safe during this very uncertain time. Not sure how you have achieved this so quickly but we couldn’t be more thankful.

NHS GP, Central London

CCR has been a big support. Feeling psychologically safe as well as physically safe has been important to us during this difficult time and CCR has helped the team feel closer.

Dr, Connie Smith, NHS GP

Just want to say thank you once again. All the ward staff were extremely grateful and appreciative of the donations. I am so happy to see such generosity in these challenging times.

NHS JUNIOR DOCTOR, Ealing

The work this team is doing provides vital equipment to frontline staff who haven’t got the appropriate equipment to do their jobs safely.

NHS CARDIOLOGIST, South West London

Thank you so much. It really is an amazing and generous gift.

NHS PRACTICE MANAGER, Central London

What we are using funds raised for:

Supporting NHS staff, and the most vulnerable and marginalised, who are disproportionately affected by the pandemic, namely:

   i)    those suffering due to domestic abuse

   ii)   the homeless

   iii)  those with mental health conditions

   iv)  refugees

PPE & MEDICAL DEVICES

Procured by us and donated directly to frontline workers, our average delivery times are: London: 1-2 hours; rest of the UK: 1-2 working days.

PAN LONDON OXYGEN SATURATION PROBE 12 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAY A WEEK DELIVERY AND LOAN SERVICE

In collaboration with The Royal Free Hospital and The Bike Shed, we deliver oxygen saturation probes to patients aiming for within 90 minutes for urgent deliveries, in order to aid self-assessment and REMOTE assessment of Covid symptoms, thereby mitigating the impact on our emergency services. Thousands of probes delivered to patients to date.

THE VAXI TAXI PROJECT running across London with the aim of facilitating pop up vaccination units at various centres, including faith, community and asylum seeker centres, as well as homeless shelters, and transport people without access to private transport to these pop up vaccination centres, thereby making vaccination against Covid-19 more accessible for high risk groups, and addressing inequalities of health. The Vaxi Taxi Project has been highlighted by the Vaccines Minister and at a June 2021 Downing Street COVID briefing.

    In the background, we are continuing our daily efforts to protect healthcare professionals, Covid patients and the most vulnerable and marginalised in our society. We are delighted, therefore, that the British Medical Association recently wrote about co-founder, Dr. Sharon Raymond, and Covid Crisis Rescue's 'ingenuity and determination in responding to the unfolding crisis': https://www.bma.org.uk/news-and-opinion/above-and-beyond-schemes-that-save-lives-during-covid-19 Your generosity and support enables us to keep doing this vital work.

    Unfortunately the crisis is far from over and - shockingly - the need for PPE on the frontlines remains acute. This morning we have sent out £3,000+ worth of PPE - gowns, masks, gloves, visors - and thermometers to the Ealing, Southall, West Drayton and Northolt areas. It remains imperative that we continue to raise funds and support frontline workers.
