Chris and The Coronavirus Chorus

This all began with a challenge laid down to me on Facebook to take the classic Gilbert & Sullivan "Modern Major General" song from the Pirates of Penzance, and write a COVID-19-themed version of the lyrics, getting the messages out about how to help prevent the spread of the virus, but in an entertaining way.

Not able to perform it in "real life", we went virtual!

Nearly all live performers are struggling at the moment - Help Musicians UK, the leading financial aid charity for musicians, had 10,000 applications to this hardship fund within the first 7 days - but we managed to assemble an amazing cast of singing friends from all over the world: The Coronavirus Chorus!

Some are professional opera singers, some fine amateurs, and all of us wanting to help musicians worse off than we are during this very difficult time for the Performing Arts.

Thanks also need to go to the fabulous Andy Brown on piano, and to Max Pugh who has very kindly taken a significant chunk of time out of his diary as a film maker, for making it all possible.

It's very difficult to sing in a chorus when you can't hear anyone else, but with some skilful work on Max's part, I hope you'll agree it has all lined up pretty well.
