I've raised £400 to support Field Nurse in their work with the farming community and Manorlands Hospice in their care for people with life limiting conditions.

Together with 4 other ladies and one hombre we will attempt a relay of the English Channel, each swimming an hour at a time through some of the busiest shipping lanes in the world until we reach France - this will take anything upwards from 14hours. No wetsuits! This is funded by ourselves so all we raise will be going to charity.
I have chosen two organisations. The first is Field Nurse. I have always had a passion for rural healthcare. When I came back to England and wondering how I could carry on with this, I came across Field Nurse, who are working to bring health care to those in the farming community - stoical people who often put their farm first at the detriment to their own health. Farmers are the backbone of our country and Field Nurse are one of the few organisations in health actively reaching out to help them. Any donations will help consolidate their work at Gisburn and provide better facilities, and to expand to other auction marts and shows. See the Field Nurse website or see their facebook page
The second charity is Manorlands Hospice, raising money in conjunction with the Co-op. Care and comfort of those with life limiting conditions is so important, and money raised will support Manorlands in carrying on with their work. More information is on their website
I am crowdfunding as it enables the money to be split between the two organisations; Field Nurse has only just become a registered charity so cannot use direct donation sites yet.
