It's just 2 years since our first ever Yarn Bomb and in that time Cosby Yarn bomb has grown from a few friends with a fun idea into a free, annual, month-long, people powered, community event, featuring over 50 detailed installations!

It takes enormous amounts of yarn and materials, over 100 contributors and months of planning, making and organising to put on Cosby Yarn Bomb.

Throughout the year we run a fortnightly craft group and hold workshops. We design and co-ordinate whole community installations and provide projects and materials for local families, schools and community groups. During the pandemic we have supported over 60 local residents to create items safely in their homes, matching them to projects; providing materials, equipment, encouragement and in many cases offering a positive focus and distraction.

And we don't just create a summer Yarn Bomb; in the last year we have created Yarn Bombs for Christmas, Valentines and Halloween, a Christmas installation at Glenfield Hospital and Easter and Remembrance Sunday Kindness projects..........and we would like to do so much more!

We do this because we are passionate about the benefits that crafting and creating have on our wellbeing. We are also passionate about reducing feelings of isolation and promoting togetherness. We believe that when people come together and connect with their communities, a special kind of magic happens.

We are very grateful for all the generous donations of yarn and materials we receive. We always try to re-use, recycle and keep costs down as much as possible but the truth is we just can't deliver an event of this size without funding.
