I am doing this because their schools are not funded by the government and only the schools in the tourist areas get funded by local hotels. The areas that are off the beaten track and in the tribal areas do not have anything.

It was mentioned by the hotel that we are staying at for the first night, plus my mum has travelled to SA in the past, and she knows this is often true and not just Costa Rica having this problem. Also knew friends that have been have told her that they have done the same!

There are charity sites that you can do this through and Costa Rica is also mentioned on their sites but I rather give it directly as I also know these countries can be very corrupt!
