    Story

I am artist Liz Murray, founder of LALOA bringing art to life in many forms. I have started this page for two reasons that come together perfectly in so many ways...

I was previously a doctor and in the medical field for 11 years, spending a lot of time in Paediatrics and working with unwell children not just in the UK but oversees too. Although I have left the medical field for personal reasons, I still feel a longing to help a speciality and area of life I was privileged to be part of, but can no longer contribute the way I once could. I want to still reach out and help an area of medicine that I have experienced and know is of vital importance to everyone. For the unsung heros who work tirelessly to cure the most fragile and precious of humans, our children and the next generation. For the staff who work as a team night and day to stand up and do what not many can. If I'm not there in my own scrubs any more, I want to still help and raise awareness and know I'm still doing what I can, and if that means encouraging donations through my art then here we are...

Secondly, and probably most importantly, 'Country Cows' was a painting I'd longed to do for a while. Social media has a way of connecting people, and I found myself inspired by a young lady's posts of her life with her family on the farm. @Sallycattani (of insta) and I have come to know each other beyond the photos and I discovered that her son, Arthur has a very rare heart defect, Ebstein's anomoly. Their family's world has been turned upside down by a paediatric medical condition that will continue to affect them daily. Arthur has already needed so much medical attention and will continue to do so. He is currently thriving but only thanks to the dedication and outstanding service provided by paediatricians. When I asked to paint Sally some of Sally's dairy cows, I already started wondering how I could use these paintings to give back to her family in some way and help them, and realised by using her cows, with my art, together we can raise awareness and money to support one of the greatest children's medical services in the country, if not the world.

This year I have produced 'Country Cows' in my collection and am auctioning the original painting to the highest contributor to GOSH, via this page here. Equally for every single one of the limited edition prints sold 20% of the profits will be donated to the charity. I am hoping that together we can somehow use art to help give back to a smaller generation that need our help, and what better way than through the gift of art.

The Country Cows is available to buy for £490 with all profits going to GOSH charity. 100% of donations via this page will go to the charity. The original is available in Burnham Market, Norfolk gallery LALOA, The Old Forge and can be purchased there or by donating the amount to this page.
