ICE 2017
Integrated Community Experience
Thank you for visiting the ICE Just Giving page.
ICE is an informative, fun and enjoyable event, bringing together some of the most isolated and disadvantaged members of our society, people with disabilities, learning difficulties and/or autism, along with their families, many of whom because of their caring role are also extremely isolated and subject to both physical and mental health issues, supporters and professionals to share an experience with a difference.
ICE is a lived experience of inclusion designed to bring people together, to learn something to help with daily living, to network and connect, to allow people to be themselves, to open up, and gain confidence in themselves. It provides not only an educational conference, but one that is centred around giving the opportunity of fun and friendship and the ability to express oneself in a mixed, welcoming and vibrant atmosphere.
Add in a ‘Come Dine with Me’ experience, some lively workshops, a talent show and art group, along with recreational facilities and accommodation offered by Butlin’s- all promoting enthusiasm, community and learning from each other!
Although the event is run by volunteers the facilities food, transport and travel have to be paid for.
In order to enable as many people as possible to attend the cost of the event, per person, for the full four-day experience will be £175 including accommodation, food and entertainment all of which will require subsidising
Additionally, the people who would benefit most from this experience are the ones least able to attend without financial support whilst others because of their handicaps cannot attend without their support workers, an additional cost. We need to raise funds to cover free and subsidised places to enable the neediest to attend.
Any donation, large or small that you are able to make will help an individual attend, and add a positive experience to their lives.
Thank you
