I (Courtney Stewart) and a special guest which i hope will be joining me in Kevin Wealleans (ashington LEGEND) are going to cycle at least 500 mile in the month of February 2021, starting from the 1st.

I am doing this for myself, but also for Claire Wealleans (Kevin’s daughter), whom of which is suffering from one of the very worst diseases (Cancer). However, she’s not suffering on her own and has an ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL family whom of which is also suffering.

Now, for me I am doing this more for myself than anything because I want to help them - I don’t owe them anything, but to know that I may have in the future helped that family is everything to me. One of my bestest friends in Sophie Wealleans (Claire’s baby sister), is the STRONGEST girl I know and is the biggest ‘giver’ - she’s actually a big inspiration in my life and if one day I tell you that i’m half the woman she is, just know that’s HUGE.

This is not to buy any sort of appreciation from the family, my aim is going to be high with a £10,000 target. If we don’t reach it, that’s okay - but to know I’ve set myself a huge target, motivates me to get more.

If anyone knows Kevin, you’ll know he’s stubborn and a ‘GRAFTER’ (as we like to call it in Northumberland) and he LOVES the outdoors. So for myself, I wanted to do it with Kevin because this means more to him than anything.

Like I said previously, my target is 500 miles now again if you know me well - I probably won’t JUST do 500 miles... but I am not going to put pressure on myself as I know better than most that times are tough at the moment, and if I don’t want to do a 30 mile ride one day I don’t have to... but i will not be alone during this and know I will have thousands of peoples support and that’s all i need. Please do NOT feel forced to donate money, just do one thing (IF YOU WANT TO) and read Claire’s story because money doesn’t buy love and will NEVER buy happiness. But it can make people comfortable, and that’s what I want from this - for all of Claire’s family and herself to be comfortable.

Personally, I CANNOT wait to share some of this experience with Kevin - as he’s one of my most genuine people i’ve ever met and has the BIGGEST heart. As well, this gives us both something to focus on OTHER THAN the pandemic - because to be honest, right now... NOT ONE PERSON I know could say they’re 100% ‘ok’ and that in itself is ‘OK!’.

So, my aim isn’t just to raise the money - my aim is to show everyone and raise awareness about life. Life is far too precious. I would love everyone to be kind, but not only that - i would love for everyone to APPRECIATE every single thing they have in life, because someone, somewhere has it worse than you (needless to say though, you are ALLOWED to feel down and upset). BUT TOUGH TIMES DO NOT LAST, TOUGH PEOPLE DO.

To conclude, I will be wearing shorts and a t-shirt (WITH CLAIRE’S chance written on it) throughout the journey (even in the rain and snow) and we will go out every single day for 28 days on our bikes together because we WANT to.
