Story

These are stressful and uncertain times ahead of us, so we need all the help we can get. We have had to cancel our fundraising events and stalls, which we rely on to keep the sanctuary running. Our Easter event would have been less than a month away. Deliveries of food are uncertain, and we are unable to receive visitors. We are trying to stay positive, but this is an urgent situation for the animals!

Carole is in the ‘vulnerable’ age category, and our main team consists of volunteers. So to protect the team, we have had to turn away visitors and cancel tours that are being booked, which loses us considerable donations and support.

We get 1 tonne of feed delivered every week from our supplier, which comes from approximately 80 miles away, and costs £500. We also have to go to the local animal feed store to buy extra feed that is not available on this bulk order, such as Sugar beet - we get through about 10 bags of this a week. This appeal would give us 2 months' peace of mind.

We do not have enough funds to stock up our feed in advance of this pandemic, like some farmers may be doing at the moment. With a back-up supply of feed, the sanctuary could carry on as normal, with the knowledge that our 400+ animals will not be left without feed in this unpredictable time. This is where you come in!

We urge all our supporters to take care of themselves during this stressful time. Thank you all so much for your support.
