I've raised £235000 to fund our free Covid-19 Health Trackers in the fight against Covid-19

During these uncertain times, a lack of information is what often frustrates us. We can't fight Covid-19 or deliver the best medical and social care services, if we don't understand this disease and its full impact.
Doctors and scientists need help to understand why some people with the illness show no or mild symptoms whilst others present severe, life-threatening symptoms. It’s also been extremely difficult to assess how much of the population is isolating with symptoms and where these hot spots may exist.
To help answer these questions and many more, the team at Healthbit have brought forward the release of the Healthbit App, available free of charge.
The Healthbit App allows people to track symptoms and severities on a regular basis irrespective of whether they are showing symptoms of the coronavirus or not. This data will help develop a better picture about the progression and impact of the disease on citizens all over the world.
By capturing information we can help scientists find better ways to treat people, as well as helping individuals to maintain a record of their own health and share it instantly with doctors in a crisis so they can receive the best care for them.
We’re hoping people will find the App useful to keep on top of all their health information, for themselves, family members and the people they care for.
Only anonymised data generated from the Covid-19 trackers will be made freely available to governments, public health systems and approved research organisations to better understand the effects of the virus and Covid-19.
1. A better understanding of the way the coronavirus moves through the population and how it affects different people in different ways.
2. Explore the range of COVID-19 symptoms (common and uncommon) and their severities.
3. Understand how pre-existing medical conditions effect the outcomes of people contracting COVID-19.
4. Compare the effectiveness of medicines, (new and old) being used to treat symptoms of Covid-19.
5. Understand the effect of the coronavirus pandemic on mental health (anxiety, depression, mood).
6. Examine the health (and economic) burden being placed on carers.
7. The effect on the Quality of Life of people all over the world
8. Measure the impact of coronavirus pandemic on our social, economic and lifestyle situations to better plan and mitigate against gaps in care and services for future epidemics/pandemics.
