PEGASUS MEN’S WELLBEING CENTRE CIC LAUNCHES FREE CORONA VOICE PROJECT TO ALL.

COVID-19 & Corona Virus has dropped our country into crisis. Our community members are suffering from isolation, exhaustion and burnout. Nothing like this has happened in our lifetime before, and we began to realise the horrific mental toll this crisis would take upon us all.

This realisation spurred us into action. We have an ability to help those in need, and the passion and dedication to see it through.

We, at Pegasus - Men’s Wellbeing Centre CIC, have launched the Corona Voice Project to support you.

Our agency normally works solely with men. However … COVID-19 does not discriminate. No one is immune, no matter the gender, race, or religion. Our project is for anyone and everyone over the age of 16 with Coronavirus related stress, anxiety or distress.

Any gender.

Any race.

Any religion.

Living anywhere.

The Pegasus Team will work to support you and other individuals in need of emotional and psychological support. Whether you are struggling with the fear of the unknown, cabin fever is setting in or burnout and vicarious trauma have gripped you:

You will receive 6 FREE sessions of counselling over the telephone or via video call with a member of our team. We have decided to offer this service for free to show our support for every one of you during this crisis. Also, as a small thank you to the selfless people behind the scenes that keep us safe, our country running, and our hospitals functioning.

Each and every volunteer is either a qualified counsellor or trainee counsellor in their last or second to last year of professional qualification. To work safely and ethically, they all require clinical supervision which costs money. We are a not-for-profit community interest company and currently have no funds to pay for this.

For 3 months of client work the project would need to spend in excess of £3,000 for the supervision alone, and this is but one of many costs to provide professional counselling.

We are planning for the long run, and it is likely people may need support for longer than 3 months. This funding target of £6,000 will hopefully help us to support you all for 6 months.

Supervision provides an essential support to counsellors. From helping them choose which techniques to use, to ensuring they don’t become overloaded; supervision is one of the most effective method of avoiding trauma fatigue.
