I've raised £1000 to make improvements to our craft facility and our equipment.

‘Craft at the Centre’ is a focus for craft practitioners and teachers, working together to develop a vibrant social hub for community engagement and well-being through craft and creativity.
A year ago Sue Harker, Jeannie Ireland and myself came together to try and keep craft alive in this beautiful building, Centre for Science and Art, in the heart of Stroud. We had no money to speak of and took out a loan. Our first year has been succesful and we can already see how much this means to our community. Our intention was never to make a profit but to make the facility cover its costs and have some left over for improvements. That way we could make it affordable to all. However, our secondhand equipment and facilities need repairing and renovating to keep business going and attract more crafts.
Our space is split into three main areas. We have a small pottery, a multi purpose room and an outdoor Stone carving/workshop. We have several weekly Pottery courses running, Kids pottery classes, Drop in sessions and offer an outlet to our local Alternative Provisions in Education. A Jewellery group meet regularly in our main area and five artists rent out areas and use it for Printmaking, Maskmaking, Glass, Stone carving and Leather. We also hold Master classes, Weekend workshops, Parties, Open days and even the odd Hen do.
If you feel you could support us finacially we would really be grateful. Please visit our website to read more about us. Craftatthecentre.com
