Story

Hello!

Just before Christmas last year, my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer, which was devastating news for her and our family. Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary have been incredibly supportive through this, and recovery is very likely after a full course of chemotherapy and radiotherapy over the coming months.

Mum has made us all very proud with her positive attitude throughout her journey to recovery and to show support I promised I'd "Brave the Shave". So, in hearing this, my 6 year old niece, Alicia, pledged to join in on the FUNdraising too. She asked to do her part by having her very long hair cut and donated to the Princess Trust to make wigs for any children living with a diagnosis of cancer, which is an amazing sentiment for someone so young.

Mum (and Granny) has had fantastic support from her family throughout her cancer journey and we will continue to give that support, but she has also been full of praise for the staff at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, who have been nothing short of excellent.

I hope you can join us in supporting DGRI by giving what you can and support local people with this difficult diagnosis... please.

Thank you.
