Story

Earlier this year i was introduced to a charity called Rock 2 Recovery. The charity offers support for serving members of the armed forces, veterans and/or their families who are suffering with general stress and PTSD. They also support our emergency service personnel.

Support is offered via one to one coaching sessions, events and workshops, a helpline, and also through peer support. The team operates proactively in the community, and on the road around the UK at eight national client Specialist Change Management Coaching clinics (Glasgow, Edinburgh Napier University, Exmouth, London, Jersey, York, Bournemouth, and Isle of Man).

You can find further information at: https://rock2recovery.co.uk/

Rock 2 Recovery is funded by The Royal Marines Charity, donations, and by fundraisers organised by members of Team Fortitude.

On September 1st I, along with a team of 14 climbed Ben Nevis. This was the first fundraising event that I have organised, and I couldn’t have been happier with the outcome. The event was a great success and I received brilliant feedback from the other participants. I raised £1,139 as well as spreading awareness. Due to this success, and the many people around the UK who showed interest in the event but could not attend due to the short notice given, we are running this event annually, and are offering the choice of two routes (The Tourist Path and a more difficult route via the Carn Mor Dearg Arete). Our next Ben Nevis event will be Saturday September 7th 2019, which you are more than welcome to join.

In April 2020 I, along with other members of Team Fortitude are going to be tackling Peru’s famous Inca Trail. The trail is 25 miles long and reaches an altitudes of up to 4200m. The trip is 8 days long, 4 of which will be spent walking the trail. The trip is costing £2850, and i am aiming to raise £5000 in total.

I can't meet my goal without the help of people like you.

I would like to thank you for reading my story, and hope that you consider making a donation to help sponsor the event? By giving to Rock 2 Recovery, you will be able to help them to continue providing the awesome and much needed support to those who require it.
