Story

Charity Event in remembrance of Callum Moody-Chapman and in support of the Maryport Inshore  Lifeboat.

My name is Craig Chapman eldest brother to the above named and would appreciate some support if possible.

I  have been thinking of how what I could do  to hopefully raise some money to support  your inshore rescue unit, as I am aware you are an independent unit which is self funded. The reason for this is because of your help that was provided in locating our younger brother who went missing off the coast at Maryport in December 2013. On October the 26th it would have been his 21st birthday and we would like to do something charitable to show our appreciation to the Maryport Lifeboat crew and support their ongoing missions.

To give you a brief overview of the circumstances please read on,

on  December 15th  four years ago my brother went missing just off the new pier in Maryport, he was found 2 days later washed up near the golf course, he had taken his own life. We feel that after all the help your Lifeboat service provided over 60 hrs in finding Callum,  we would like to try and give something back, and this time would be quite fitting

Working on the distance from my house at RAF Coningsby in, Lincolnshire it is 241 miles to my Nans house at 38 Edinburgh Road in Maryport.  what I am thinking of doing is cycling the 241 miles by starting around my local area in Lincolnshire, and completing  the last coupe of miles  from my nans house on Edinburgh road, to the cemetery, completing the 241 mile distance.

The plan is to cycle the 241 miles from the 1st October completing the task on Callum’s  birthday the 26th October in Cumbria, finishing off by cycling from my Nans house to Cullum's memorial in the Cemetery.. This equates to about 9.26 miles a day. I would need to do this daily as i will also be working at the same time.

This would be a fitting way to celebrates Callum's 21st Birthday and in the meantime help support the Maryport Inshore Rescue for all their efforts.

I hope you will help support this cause,

Many thanks,

Craig.
