Story

In 2019 I made and donated 500 football kits to Aida Celtic, a Palestinian refugee camp football team. The camp has been there since 1948, there are now 4 generations living there. I stayed with a family in the camp for a week and experienced their situation. This experience changed my life.

I always wanted to return to the camp. This year I will return & take part in the Bethlehem Marathon. Anyone who knows me knows I'm not a runner, but I've decided to train to run 10K.

I'd like to raise awareness of the situation, and donate funds to be split between the football team, and the cultural centre in the camp- The Lajee Centre. The camp is not tied to any political faction and has always practiced non-violent protest to the occupation. The cultural centre believes in the 'Right of Return' for all refugees as stipulated in United Nations resolution number 194 (December 1948).
