Story

I am running a half-marathon known as the Turkey Trot (www.turkeytrot.org.uk) in Nottingham on December 12th in memory of Dylan Rich, a 17 year old friend, who died tragically on September 5th a few days after suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch whilst playing football for West Bridgford Colts.

Dylan was an incredible young man who loved sport of all kinds and also had a very keen interest in conservation. Dylan's Mum and Dad, Mike and Anna, have established a fund to enable giving to these two areas. I am running specifically to provide funds to improve access to sport and physical activity for young people in the Nottinghamshire area, particularly where there are barriers to participation. We will be working with existing organisations including Dylan’s own football club to establish how we can enable more young people to take part and enjoy being active. Mike and Anna feel blessed to have been able to provide Dylan with everything he needed to take part in whatever sports he wished to try. They want his legacy to include increasing the opportunities for the many young people who are not as fortunate as he was.

In these tough economic times, I am asking if you would be prepared to donate £5. If 150 friends can donate, I will reach my goal of £750. I hope you can help. Thank you all - Craig.
