    Story

This is our 7th annual charity football match in the name of my son Ross and this year we've decided to support 2 separate charities. The first charity is Frame Football Scotland who provide football coaching for children with cerebral palsy and other disabilities that prevent them from playing football in the conventional way. This is a charity that means a lot to us as a family as Ross has been a participant for a few years now and the positive impact it has had on him, not only physically but mentally, is unbelievable. The work done by their coaches is exceptional and watching Ross and the other kids grow in confidence thanks to them is an amazing thing to see. There has also been a few trips organised for the kids, the last one being a trip to Newcastle to compete against their Frame Football side and then go and watch a Newcastle United game which was a fantastic experience for them and without funding none of this would be possible. The other charity we want to support is Scottish Disability Sport and the main reason for this is that they provide funding for the Scottish Cerebral Palsy football team and one of Ross' football coaches who is also a very good friend plays for them. Without the funding they receive, the team wouldn't be able to compete in tournaments against other nations and could eventually cease to exist and I feel that it's important that this is never allowed to happen because many of the Frame Football kids will have aspirations of emulating their coach one day and if that opportunity isn't there for them then they might have nothing to progress on to after Frame Football. Everyone deserves the opportunity to play football at the highest level possible, with this fundraising I hope we can contribute to making that happen. Thank you.
