Story

In 2018, my family lost 2 wonderful people, 1 suffering from Alzheimers disease and the other being a loyal wife looking after her husband. My grandma and grandad we're inseperatable and were the kindest of souls that I had ever came across.

My grandma looked after my grandad for years who was suffering badly with alzheimers disease and I will never forget what she did for him. In the end it got a little bit too much for her and she took rather sick in early June. On august 3rd, 3 days after my 21st birthday she passed away due to pneumonia in the lungs. This was a huge shock to all of us and me especially.

Shortly after around 1-2 months, my grandad suddenly took really ill and unfortunately passed away on the 11th of October due to unknown circumstances and we strongly believe it was out of heartbreak.

I always talked to my grandmother about running the race for the cause and never got around to doing it, so now I have decided now that they are both gone it is time to do the run in their memory and honour. I will keep them in my thoughts all of the way through the run and their strength will get me to the finish line.

Every little helps and is greatly appreciated.

I love them and miss them very much and I will never forget them.

Thanks all :)
